- Survived finals! I have really liked my classes so far, the biggest surprise was photography. I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would and am considering taking another class...or two!
- I reached my 6th month mark at my job! I never realized how much fun working with mostly men can be! Oh don't get me wrong, I am lost without my lunch buddy Lexi and my super funny office mate Veronica! But the men are so entertaining! There is always some exciting drama going on there. It seems like everyone gets a nickname and so far I have been given the names of "The Mormon Girl" and "Pojo" (after my high school mascot).
- I remembered that Texas is capable of producing cold weather! Really cold weather! It doesn't last as long as it did in Utah but it hurts more...gotta love humidity...On Sunday it was 78 and on Monday it was in the 20s. And today it "snowed" for about 2 minutes...
- My dear friend Lexi and her friends have let me join their Bible Study! I have never been to a Bible Study of a different religion...but I am open to new adventures. Yesterday we met and ate BBQ, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad!...How Texas is that...the Bible with some Brisket!? And there really was more giggling than anything...but one day we will get to the important stuff!
- Finally, I have recently been thinking how different my life is from 6 months ago. For starters, I used to really not like Mexican food. I once got sick on it. But now I crave it. It's like this whole new world of taste has happened and I can't seem to get enough of it!
- Secondly, I open the mail at work and just in doing that made me think how different things are. I open the mail and get Christmas cards with Santa and some large piece of machinery like a a back hoe or tractor. I used to work in a really cushy dental office. It was beautiful. Now I work in a metal building that has that has mud tracked on the floor and a warehouse attached. It houses things that would be used in any sort of manual labor...shovels, axes, a fork lift...and an assortment of random mice and rats that feed on grass seed. There is also a wild turkey and chicken that have showed up. I don't know where they came from...we are in downtown Fort Worth.
- Also, I come home from shopping on Saturday to see a dead deer hanging in front of the workshop with it's skin missing and it's tongue hanging out of its sad little mouth. My friend's little boy who is with me sees it and says "I love it". He's three.
Now...Don't you all want to move to TEXAS?
