I'm melting! I'm melting!

Yes you see that right! It says it is 108! This was me on Saturday...we had just left the nice cool theater from seeing Mamma Mia.. which I totally loved...but can't seem to get the songs out if my head!
Anyway, I thought I need something cool so I go get an ice cream cone. I get it and suddenly I can't keep it contained! It's melting everywhere! I am sucking and licking as fast as I can and I can not keep up! I sit there for several minutes trying to get this ice cream under control...I am inhaling this ice cream and consider just throwing it out..but it's Braums ice cream.. creamy and delicious! Then in all my licking fury I feel someone watching me. I look over and there are 2 Mexican men and their kids watching me! They were just staring..I can only imagine what they were thinking..
Note to self...don't eat ice cream unless it's under triple digits.

Crappy Art

So I know I just had a post yesterday...but I wanted to share with you this tibdit of information that I learned in class tonight. There is a man who lives in another country, his name is Wim Delvoye...he is Belgian...so I'm not sure that country that is...Anyway this man is an artist. But not an everyday artist...he likes to paint shovels...tattoo pigs...take x-rays of rats,etc...and then calls it art. Well his latest idea for art is a machine called the Cloaca. Basically it is a machine that is "fed" a gourmet meal and then it basically acts as a digestive system and then it will "poop". And the "poop" is the artwork! Yes! I kid you not! People are paying alot of money to see poop in a vacuum seal. If you wonder why in the world anyone would buy poop in a baggie...well I just don't know. But the theory behind is it that stupid people will buy "crappy" art for a lot of money. I know it's disgusting, but I somewhat enjoy the irony! If you are so inclined to see the poop and other art you can see it here! Enjoy!

Drawing & Life

Ok, so most of you know I have gone back to school for graphic design...something I have always wanted to do. Well my first class was Design I. It was fun and I enjoyed it. My teacher's name was Stephen. He encouraged me to take his wife's class, Drawing I. I had to take it but I wasn't so sure about it, I am/or was a horrible drawer. I couldn't even draw a cat. Just stars and Texas flags....imagine that! So I was terrified! But I have to say that so far I love this class more than I did the other and it's mostly because of the teacher. We are really close in age and she' really outgoing like me. I have learned some valuable things from the class...for example I could never draw a 3D box! Not a all! But now I can! I know it seems so lame and easy...but I have to say that it was a personal triumph for me to master the 3D box! I really had a hard time getting it..at least the way she was teaching me. But then I did it my way and then (as she put it)....I had a breakthrough! Anyway...so I really like this class and while I am drawing I like to talk...it relaxes me and makes me not so uptight. Which according to Winter (my teacher) makes it hard for me to enjoy drawing...I want it all perfect the first time! She said when she was in Budapest for an art class the teacher would offer them shots before class to loosen up! Apparently it can help! But apparently talking is all I need!

I really am liking my new world. It has definitely taken some getting used to. It was a culture shock for sure! But after 2 and a half months I have decided that I am glad that I made the decision to leave Logan. I thought I would never say that I was glad that I left Logan but I am. I highly recommend to everyone a life altering decision and getting out of your comfort zone ! You will be so glad that you did!

Disclaimer: This post does not in any way mean that I do not miss my Utah friends! I wish I had them with me all the time!

A few things !

So ordinarily I would start out a July 5th blog with stories about how fabulous the 4th was, but today something has taken top priority! I was was perusing the internet catching up on all the internet news, I saw this: REPORTS OF A FRIENDS MOVIE IN THE WORKS! And in 30 seconds all my Friends moments in my life's just came flashing back to me ! Pure bliss! Friends was so juicy in high school but got so so much better in college with 2 of my favorite Friends addicts! Megan and Annie! How many hours we had watching Friends and eating Ben and Jerry's. Friends could cure any sadness and make anything fun! Especially the Friends Triva Game! Ah, moments I will never forget!
But wait...what is even better than waiting so impatiently for the next episode! RERUNS! Everyday they were there for me while I ate dinner. A perfect way to end a work day !

So, when I see that a movie may or may not be made of Friends...it makes me so excited for that day! Because I can promise you Meg and Annie that I will be there with you on opening day with Ben and Jerry's!

Now on to other things....

This 4th was super fun! We started with a little BBQ and fireworks on Thursday night. (Sax has to work all holidays this year ...he's a fireman.) I love nothing more than a good hamburger on the grill. After the fireworks we went and got in the pool ...swimming at night is very fun except for one detail. BUGS! Bugs are everywhere in Texas...especially at night when they love the lights in the pool and insist on jumping in and swimming with me! The ones that I hate ( and hate is an understatement) is the June Bug. It is the nastiest of all the bugs and I call them what they really are...those little rat bastards. It has these little grasper legs that once it latches it on...it doesn't let go! That is especially horrible when it's in your hair! Just writing about it gives me the heeby jeebies!
Anyway...I survived the June bugs..and started Friday morning with a pancake breakfast at the church. I think all 4th of Julys should start with a pancake breakfasts. That night we went to the Trinity River to watch fireworks. I work for a company that owns the Trinity so I got to us my badge to sneak us through gates and get a perfect view with few people around. As we waited there Cait and Samantha entertained themselves by shimming down the hills of the Trinity on cardboard. (For you utahans this is like ice blocking) It was funny to watch but I wasn't about to do it and get grass itiches and chiggers ( another rat bastard).
We had a great view of the Ft. Worth skyline and even better view of the fireworks. They were probably the best, most interesting, and longest fireworks I've ever seen! It was a great 4th and I look forward to the next one!
