No one will probably get the title of this post except for Jill. She likes to sing that song to me...Anyway, it's interesting the things you find when going through the past 8 years of your life. Stuff that I can't believe I held on to for years, but when you think about hauling it 1200 miles sometimes it doesn't seem all that important. Like the high school foot ball season program. Why do I still have that? And a plastic bendable Jack in the Box that I have had since high school. Or the rattle from a rattlesnake I killed with an ax when I was a girls camp. Why? The funnest part of it all is throwing all that crap away, except for the rattle. I'm keeping that!
But my most favorite part is going through the pictures that I have collected over my life and mostly the past 8 years. There are things that I have completely forgot about and things I want to forget about! For example every horrible school picture I have ever taken. (For a preview to go Jill's blog if you really want to show!) As for the pictures I am so glad I saved to remember... my birthday party with my fam and friends before I moved to Utah...the many faces of Luke I thought I wouldn't see again in this lifetime... my many roommates and the kick butt rockin' awesome times that I had with them! I could go on but I am sure you are sick of the sap by now. But before I close let me just say I have found some intense blackmail material...so beware! Ha Ha Ha!

Hallie's New Look
Tara just sent me a picture of Hallie and her new glasses. I asked her if she was sure if Hallie was hers and not Manda's (our other sister). She looks so much like her!

I'm still here....
If you all are wondering why I am not posting anything it's because my lap top isn't as accessible as I would like it to be! A few weeks ago I got a little carried away and poured water on it! Can you believe I would abuse my child like that! So, he's at the doctor getting fixed! Bless his heart!
Anyway until I get him back here is some light reading:

Texas Triva
I was on the internet the other day and found the most interesting website, a page full of Texas symbols. I knew we had a state flower, bird, song , etc. But I did know that we had a state shrub, grass, insect or state bread. There is even a state vehicle, cooking implement, dinosaur and even a state 10K! And these are not just something that some hick in Texas came up with. They have actually been made into laws! Fascinating! You can see then entire list here:http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ref/abouttx/symbols.html
Bless his heart!
I read this story this morning, and I feel so sorry for him. He was just trying to be romantic and now his girlfriend won't talk to him! I'd ditch the ungrateful girl!
Honey, will you marry... Oh. Never mind!
It is the one moment every man wants to get right -- and which London floor-fitter Lefkos Hajji could hardly have got more wrong. The luckless 28 year-old's dreams of giving his sweetheart, Leanne, 26, the ultimate proposal have literally vanished into thin air. Hajji, of Hackney, east London, had concealed a $12,000 engagement ring inside a helium balloon. The idea was that she would pop the balloon as he popped the question. But as he left the shop, a gust of wind pulled the balloon from his hand and he watched the ring -- and quite possibly the affections of his girlfriend -- sailing away over the rooftops. "I couldn't believe it," he told The Sun newspaper. "I just watched as it went further and further into the air."I felt like such a plonker. It cost a fortune and I knew my girlfriend would kill me." Hajji spent two hours in his car trying to chase and find the balloon, without success. "I thought I would give Leanne a pin so I could literally pop the question," he said. "But I had to tell her the story -- she went absolutely mad. Now she is refusing to speak to me until I get her a new ring." He is hoping the ring will still turn up."It would be amazing if so meone found it," he added.

TEXAS in April !

So I am sure you are all waiting with bated breath to see if I was going to my reunion or not. Well I have decided that I will be going to Texas in April...and June. I was planning on going to Georiga until I saw the price to get there. It was over $400! (and that was without taxes). I hate to put a price on visiting my sister but I think I just have! So, I bought a ticket to Texas for a lot less! But don't you fret, I will go to Georgia in July. So now you can all relax! The decision has been made.
Besides April is the best time to see Texas.

Decisons, Decisions!
So I have to make a decision! Do go to Texas in April (which is the best time to go) and then go to Georgia in June to see Miss Grace when shes 2 months. Or do I go to Georgia in April and either chance being there for the birth or chance missing seeing her all together? And then go to my class reunion in June? So, I want you to take the poll just to the left of this little blog! It's Decision Time in 2008!

Recouperation!
I am home from California I am very sad to say. But it's a good thing I did because I am exhausted! I don't know how Allison is going to recoup with 3 kids. I came home to an empty house and I'm about to crash. She still has to be a mom! Poor thing! Anyway once I get myself some sleep then I will post all about our fun vacation! Until then, I will leave you with a picture that shows how I relly felt after 8 hours at Disneyland! Anna was such trooper and did so good the whole day!

Don't Touch My Willie!

So, I am supposed to be cleaning my room...but I have once again been distracted by something other than cleaning it. (I think this is not the first time I have started a post this way.) But as I was semi-organizing my room, I decided I needed a something to keep my attention. So, I have been having this classic country craving. It is like the best of all the genres. 80s country music is so under appreciated. I started with little John Denver and Emmylou Harris (Wild Montana Skies, rocking song to belt out!) then Thank God I'm a Country Boy! (I once held my roommate Melanie hostage in my truck by refusing to stop driving until that song was done playing...she hates any thing close that resembles country music! She almost jumped out of a moving vehicle just to escape it!)
Then next came all the songs from the BOX SET...yes BOX SET of the greatest artist of all time...Mr. Willie Nelson! Oh how I have missed and neglected him! It's been so long since I have paid homage to the pot smoking, tax evading, farm saving GENIUS that he is!
As I was organizing and the music played, I tried to think of my favorite Willie song..and there isn't just one. So here is a list of my favorite top 5 Willie songs...ok, there are seven:
- City of New Orleans (it doesn't get better than that!)
- Highwayman (with Kris Kristopherson, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings)
- Seven Spanish Angels (with Ray Charles..the saddest of the Willie Songs. The part when he sings "If the take me back to Texas, the won't take me back alive" makes me teary eyed every time!)
- Pancho and Lefty
- To All the Girls I've Loved Before
- Crazy (ok, so Patsy Cline made it a hit, but he wrote it so that totally counts!)
- Luckenbach, Texas
- Mama's Don't Let Your Babys Grow Up to Be Cowboys
- On the Road Again
- Faded Love
- Hello Walls
- Always on My Mind
- My Heros Have Always Been Cowboys
What Would Willie Do? By Gary Allen or Don't Touch My Willie ! By Kevin Fowler
Dan Rather even suggested, "We should add his face to the cliffs of Mt. Rushmore and be done with it."
I am sure not all would agree, but I'd support it.
