I survived!

You should all be so proud of the fact that I am now fully vaccinated for Hepatitis! It has only taken two years to get it all done. It has three rounds and I am very stubborn and resisted in every way from going! The sad thing is that I go in to the Health Department and the lady who is checking me remembers me...from 2 years ago! So she takes me back to a special room because I get so sick when I get shots. There is a actual name for what happens, and she says I have no control over it...So I'm not just a wimp!

Anywho..I would like to welcome my friend Meagan to the world of blogging! Check her out... http://jmblackfamily.blogspot.com/

Death by Chocolate....

So, I have had this craving for molten chocolate cake from Chili's for like 3 days. I thought, well I'm smart girl, I can duplicate it. Well I looked for a recipe that I thought would be really good. I hate trying recipes that I know aren't going to be good. I leave that up to my sisters. But I ventured out after consulting Tara. We found one on Allrecipies.com. I am concerned about that it only calls for unsalted butter and I only have salted. So I continue you on my molten chocolate cake journey and it's going really well, much easier that I planned. I get them in the oven and start to clean up...and that is when I saw it...the salted butter. Sitting on the counter...and the horror begins! My beautiful molten chocolate cakes are destroyed! At the peak of their little lives they are going to fail! I am devastated! I am super dramatic when my cooking fails! Lets face it I have to live up to all my family members who are like super duper cooks! Even Luke was better than me...even when he was higher than a kite! Bless his heart..

Well, you will be glad to know that not all that precious chocolate was not lost. They came out of the oven after just 8 minutes and set up beautifully! Surprisingly even tasted good, even though they were missing a cup of unsalted butter. Brooke and I both enjoyed one..but who knows, they might be hard as a rock in like three minutes!

Anyway, the point of the story...don't talk on the phone while trying a new recipe. But I have included the recipe so that you all can enjoy it as well...but don't forget the butter, salted or unsalted!

Pioneer Woman

So, I first read about this ladies blog on my friend Allison's blog. I thought she had good recipies. But I was wrong...her recipes look amazing. She makes it all look so easy and all so good. I recommend you all give her a read. She's very funny too!

My favorite SNL skit!

I saw this when it first aired and thought it was so funny. I have been looking for it for years and when I found it, it is funny but not as funny as I remember it!

FYI...

  • There have been 28 marriages between Riverdance company members.
  • 48,000 pounds of chocolate have been consumed (for energy!) by the cast.
  • 40,000 gallons of Gatorade have been consumed.
  • 38,400 rolls of self-grip tape have been used by Riverdance physiotherapists
  • 150,000 gallons of water have been consumed.
  • 9,000 costumes have been worn in the show.
  • 4,500,000 pounds of dry ice have been used on stage.
  • Riverdance has played over 8,000 performances.
  • Riverdance has been seen live by over 18 million people in over 250 venues worldwide, throughout 30 countries across 4 continents.
  • 12,000 dance shoes have been used in Riverdance.

Hot dancers, expensive shoes and one saucy fiddle player!

So I am sure you are all dying to know how my experience was at Riverdance...especially since I have waited almost 14 years to see it! Well let me just tell you it was worth every penny to go! But first before I get to the most exciting part I have to tell about a very embarrassing thing that happened to me! We saw the show at Kingsbury Hall at the University of Utah campus. There is very little parking so they have you park at the stadium and shuttle you there. Well of course the shuttle was packed with older people (When I say older I mean like old enough to be my parents...)Dainta and I were quietly talking about things at work and I brought up the fact that I had just bought a pair of shoes...Dansko shoes. I have never bought that brand before because they are so very expensive but hopefully well worth it! Well I was telling Dainta how much I had paid for these shoes and the man standing above me said very loudly, "You paid $... for a pair of shoes!" And suddenly everyone around me is commenting very loudly about how much I paid. And then Dainta joined them all saying she couldn't even get me to buy a $40 purse. I was their topic of conversation which went on until we got to the theatre! I was so embarrassed and could feel my face getting hot and red! Thank goodness it was dark! It was actually really funny, I just didn't realize that everyone was listening to my conversation and that it would be such a shock to them all! Here is what they look like...very cute I think.

Anyway, on to Riverdance... It was incredible! Everything I hoped it would be. If you ever have the chance to see it you should...but they said this was the final tour so I don't know how you would do that. The sound when they are all dancing together is surprisingly really loud. And I have to say they all are in incredible shape, there were a lot of hot bodies on that stage. But I guess you couldn't really have a fatty up there dancing for that long.

There were times when it really intense I would find myself holding my breath...I'm not sure what for, but I did. I don't know if I thought if they couldn't hardly breath then neither should I? Or was it just that intense that it took my breath away...that sounds cheesy.

But in their words, it is
"Sensual, nurturing, independent and fierce"

and I couldn't agree more!

There was also this little saucy fiddle player that I wanted to take home with me. He would get out in the middle of the stage and get so into what he was doing! He would do this little hip shaking thing that made him even more delicious. I imagined that he would have this sexy Irish accent and that his name would be Patrick O'Reilly. Well sadly his name is just Pat and he does probably have an accent but it would be a Brooklyn New York accent.

Anyway I won't keep going on about how incredible it was...but it really was. Words can not describe it! Just to show you how excited I was I have included a picture...you can tell my the grin that I could not wipe off my face all night.
But not everyone loves Riverdance...Chandler doesn't...

Why?

I must ask, why is it continually snowing? Why? Well I know the real answer but that doesn't make me feel better. It has been a blizzard all day. I took my usual Sunday nap and dreamed I was on a road trip in California/Vegas. I woke up and was so depressed! So I call my dear friend Allison who lives in California and who I will be visiting in a few weeks. It helped me get excited about escaping this dreary place. I will be taking my first trip to Disneyland with her and sweet little Miss Anna! I am excited, it's nice to have something to look forward to. Until then, I will just have to dream!
